2014 Convictions

 

On January 6, 2014 at Provincial Court in Stephenville, NL, Ronald J. Lasaga of St. Georges was convicted of fishing for salmon during closed time and retaining trout in inland waters during closed time. He received $500 in fines and a 2 year prohibition from fishing inland waters. Mr. Lasaga was apprehended by provincial Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Officers on October 15, 2013 near Grand Lake, NL.


On January 16, 2014 at Provincial Court in Clarenville, NL, George Parsons of Georges Brook was convicted of fishing for salmon during closed time and possession of fish caught in contravention. He received $600 in fines. All items seized during the investigation were forfeited to the Crown. Mr. Parsons was apprehended by provincial Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Officers on October 6, 2013 near Georges Brook, NL.


On January 27, 2014 at Provincial Court in Corner Brook, NL, Craig Abbott of Conception Bay South was convicted of retaining untagged salmon. He received $500 in fines and a 1 year prohibition from any fishing inland waters. Mr. Abbott was apprehended by provincial Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Officers on July 15, 2013 near Deer Lake, NL
